Spanish surfers Nia Suardiaz, Mar De Arce miss title as France's Kylie Belloeuvre wins FreeFly‑Slalom in Fuerteventura

The 38th Windsurfing & Wingfoil World Championships concluded on Thursday in Sotavento, Fuerteventura, with the FreeFly‑Slalom finals. French rider Kylie Belloeuvre claimed the women's world title, while Italy's Francesco Cappuzzo secured the men's crown.

Spain’s representatives were prominent in the women's field. Tarifa‑born Nia Suardiaz dominated three of four qualifying rounds, winning three eliminations and placing second in the fourth, but a late‑race fall in the Super Final allowed Belloeuvre to overtake her and defend the title. Catalan Mar De Arce also performed consistently, earning three third‑place finishes in the qualifiers and reaching the Super Final, where she ultimately finished third overall.

The event highlighted a strong Spanish presence, though the championship titles went to competitors from France and Italy.
