Spanish surfing teams compete in El Salvador and domestic championships

The Spanish junior surfing team has successfully completed the first day of the ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2026 in El Salvador. All four initial representatives—Nahia Calderón, Oihane Goñi, Oinatz Ortega, and Dylan Donegan—advanced to the next round following competitions at La Bocana and El Sunzal.

In domestic competitions, the FESurfing Spanish Championship for Autonomous Selections concluded at Berria beach in Cantabria. The Melilla selection secured four notable positions, including a third-place finish for Antonio Castellanos in the Surf Master category. Other top performers from Melilla included Fernando Rioja, Joaquín Pomedio, and Eduardo Díaz.

Additionally, preparations are underway for the Iberdrola Surfing Day 2026, scheduled for September 12 and 13 at A Marosa beach in Burela. The event aims to highlight female participation, equality, and sustainability within the sport.
