Spanish swimmers break records at junior championships and local Combarro race

Swimmers in Spain delivered notable performances in recent competitions. At the XLVII Spanish Junior Championships in Sabadell, Alejandro López Galán of Club Natación Caballa set six regional records and placed fourth in the 200 m backstroke with a time of 2:10.08, also achieving top‑seven finishes in the 100 m and 50 m backstroke events.

In the town of Combarro on the island of Illa de Tambo, Iker Pérez García of Club Natación Galaico completed the five‑edition Volta a nado Illa de Tambo, a six‑kilometre open‑water race, in 1:28:21, while Alba Maestro of CN L’Hospitalet finished in 1:30:48. More than 250 participants took part in the event, highlighting the growing popularity of regional swimming competitions in Galicia.

Both events underscore the depth of talent emerging from Spanish swimming clubs and the enthusiasm for both competitive and community‑based races.
