Spanish technology startups gain recognition in innovation and maritime sectors
Spanish technology companies are gaining recognition in the startup and maritime sectors. The fifth edition of the ‘Startup Andalucía Roadshow’ has selected 12 finalists from 27 candidates. This initiative, led by the Andalusian Ministry of University, Research, and Innovation and the Andalusian Council of Chambers of Commerce, aims to support high-growth technology companies and promote internationalization. Finalists represent various sectors, including Industry 4.0, agrotech, security, and tourism, with companies located in Almería, Cádiz, Granada, Jaén, Málaga, and Sevilla.
In maritime technology, the Alicante-based company Golden Owl, linked to the University of Alicante Science Park, was named the best maritime startup for 2026 at the SMM meeting in Hamburg. Their ‘Strix Maritime Intelligence’ solution uses artificial intelligence, OSINT, and data fusion to anticipate maritime risks. The tool analyzes geopolitical, logistical, and meteorological data to detect operational risks, hybrid threats to critical infrastructure, and emerging market opportunities.
