Girona dominates Celta Fortuna with 5-1 victory

Girona secured a commanding 5-1 victory against Celta Fortuna at Montilivi, moving closer to direct promotion. The match was largely decided in the first half, fueled by a hat-trick from Vladyslav Vanat and a goal from Unai Hernández, who both recorded an assist and a goal within a three-minute span.

The contest shifted significantly in the 28th minute when Pablo Meixús of Celta Fortuna received a direct red card following a VAR review of a penalty incident. This left the visiting side with ten men, allowing Girona to extend their lead to 4-0 through Carles Pérez before halftime. Vanat completed his hat-trick in the second half to finalize the score.

Following the defeat, Celta Fortuna coach Fredi Álvarez called for his players to defend the club's crest with dignity despite the difficult circumstances. The match also marked the return of Stefan Bajcetic to competitive play after 530 days away due to injury.
