Spanish theatres stage new productions in June

The play “La llamada de Lauren” opened at the Teatro Cortés in Almoradí, Spain, on 25 June and continued its tour across the Vega Baja region with performances in Formentera del Segura, Algorfa, Rafal and Guardamar del Segura. The production by Willy Producciones follows a couple whose routine is disrupted when the husband dresses as Lauren Bacall, prompting questions of identity, freedom and social roles.

On 21 June, the Teatro Auditorio de Roquetas de Mar hosted a student staging of Federico García Lorca’s classic “La casa de Bernarda Alba”. The performance was directed and adapted by María Gallardo and featured actors from the municipal theatre school, accompanied by live music and technical contributions from local artists.
