Spanish towns announce €500,000 in sports subsidies for clubs and athletes
The City Council of Cieza (Murcia) has published the regulations for municipal subsidies aimed at local sports clubs, event organizers and individual athletes. The notice, posted on the municipal electronic bulletin, outlines the eligibility criteria and required documentation, although the application period has not yet opened. The submission window will begin the day after the calls appear in the Regional Official Gazette (BORM) and will last 15 calendar days.
The City Council of San Fernando (Cádiz) has released a call for €250,000 in municipal sports aid for the 2025‑2026 season. The funding is split into €200,000 for base sports—of which €160,000 is earmarked for grassroots football and €40,000 for other disciplines—and €50,000 for competition‑level activities. Applications can be submitted electronically for 15 working days after publication in the Provincial Official Gazette (BOP). The program is expected to benefit around 2,400 local athletes, 29 sports entities and 12 independent competitors.
