Spanish towns announce traditional fair contests for August and September

The municipality of Antequera opened registration for its XI National Porra Antequerana contest and the XI Flamenco and Short Dress competition, both part of the Real Feria de Agosto. Entries close on 12 August; the porridge contest runs on 21 August in the Paseo Real, with categories for children, youths and adults, while the costume parade takes place on 22 August, also in the Paseo Real.

In Arganda del Rey, officials presented the official poster for the XXXVII Feria de Novilladas “Vid de Oro”, scheduled for 5–15 September 2026. The programme includes daily novilladas with picadors, a final “Vid de Oro” contest, traditional bull runs, capeas and other taurine activities, honoring local figures Mauri and Dioni.
