Valencia police detain 40 in San Juan night security operation
During the San Juan night celebrations, Valencia police carried out a special security device that involved drones, a helicopter, antidrone systems and a dedicated women's assistance office, resulting in 40 arrests – most for drug possession and one for rape. The operation also identified 927 people and issued 225 reports.
In the same period, a municipal cleaning effort in Valencia deployed more than 250 professionals and specialised machines to keep the beaches tidy until 26 June. Meanwhile, Elche’s local police and cleaning crews removed about five tonnes of waste after a calm San Juan night that saw no major incidents.
The Canary Islands’ police announced a coordinated presence in Tenerife, Gran Canaria, La Gomera and La Palma, using patrols and shared resources to prevent fires, illegal fireworks and crowd‑related problems. In Betanzos, Bolivia, municipal brigades were sent out at night to control bonfires and pyrotechnics, aiming to avoid previous incidents such as tire burning.
