Spanish towns boost electric vehicle charging and motorhome parking facilities

The Orihuela City Council will repair, upgrade and improve its 19 municipal electric‑vehicle charging points after a technical audit. The work, budgeted at €18,094.34, will be completed within 30 days and includes equipment repairs, component replacement and safety checks. Environment Councilor Noelia Grao said the aim is to keep the infrastructure in optimal condition and promote sustainable mobility.

Almería's municipal government is preparing its first large motorhome parking area of about 4,096 m² near the Parque Periurbano del Andarax. A contract worth €7,234.26 was awarded to Ingeniería Atecsur to develop the project, which will provide water, electricity, waste‑water facilities, access control and video surveillance. Traffic, Safety and Emergency Councilor María del Mar García Lorca highlighted the need to accommodate growing motorhome tourism while preserving public space and safety.
