Spanish towns celebrate community learning initiatives

In Alcalá de Henares, around 240 adults received diplomas for completing the 28th edition of the "Alcalá Patrimonio de la Humanidad" course, a municipal program that combines classroom instruction with guided walks through the city’s historic sites. The ceremony was attended by local officials, including the councillors for Education, Culture and Historical Heritage.

In Monesterio, a pediatric nurse led a well‑attended workshop for families on how to prevent and respond to choking incidents in children aged 0‑2. The session, organized by the AFA "Érase una vez" association, also covered basic nutrition and demonstrated a new, low‑cost emergency device for clearing airway blockages. Participants discussed acquiring the equipment for the school’s cafeteria.

Both events illustrate a growing emphasis on lifelong learning and practical safety education within Spanish communities.
