Spanish towns celebrate local gastronomic awards
La Zagalica, a restaurant in Isla Plana, Murcia, was named winner of the II Ruta de la Tapa covering Isla Plana, La Azohía and El Campillo. The award was presented by the municipal councilor Belén Romero and the president of the local council Ana Agustina Martínez, recognizing the establishment’s ‘Matanueras’ tapa.
In Ciudad Real, mayor Francisco Cañizares praised the awards granted by the Sociedad Gastronómica Las Penas, noting they “have enormous value for our festivals and our identity.” Miami Gastro received the “Gastronomía y Tradición” prize and the Tuna Universitaria de Ciudad Real was honored with the “Pañuelo de Yerbas” award, underscoring the importance of preserving local culinary traditions.
