Spanish towns host summer food and Celtic festivals

The coastal municipality of Cariño in Galicia will hold the XXIII Festa da Caldeirada e da Sardiña Lañada on Saturday, 1 August. The town council plans to serve roughly 2,000 portions – about 1,200 of the traditional fish stew caldeirada and 800 of sardiña lañada – to locals and visitors. Mayor Ana María López highlighted the event as an opportunity to showcase the town’s culinary heritage and cultural richness.

In the Asturian town of Arriondas, the Mercáu Celta market runs from Thursday, 30 July to Sunday, 2 August 2026. The four‑day fair features artisan stalls, food vendors, live traditional music, and nightly fire performances called “Ave Fénix”. Highlights include folk music sessions, a “Nueche Folk Cuévano” on Saturday night, and a puppet‑giant show each evening.
