Spanish towns launch inclusive summer camps for children and families

Municipal authorities in Ribadeo, Galicia, opened summer camps on 2 July 2026, enrolling 280 participants. The program, run by the town council with support from the Plan Corresponsables and co‑financing from the Consellería de Política Social e Igualdade and the Ministry of Equality, offers activities such as sports, games, creative workshops and nature outings for children, teenagers and their families. Mayor of Youth, Francisco José Silvent, said the camps provide “safe, inclusive and educational spaces that contribute to the integral development of youth while promoting family conciliation during the summer.”

In Dénia, the association Condenados al Bordillo started the inclusive Summer School “Disfrutando del Verano 2026” for more than 50 participants. Held at IES María Ibars and the Aqualia pool, the programme includes adapted swimming for wheelchair users, creative workshops, sports, outdoor games and cognitive‑stimulation sessions. The initiative, fully booked for the season, aims to give families respite by providing a safe, supportive environment, with backing from the Dénia city council, the Fundación Marqués de Dos Aguas and other partners.
