Spanish towns launch summer campaigns to promote water use and local commerce

The city of Ciudad Real in Spain has started a summer campaign called “Ciudad Real sabe bien” in partnership with water manager Veolia. The initiative places interactive stands at major local events, offers blind‑taste water tests, a quiz on water costs and quality, and a "summer survivor" passport that encourages residents to visit 17 refrigerated water fountains across the city. Participants can win a summer‑stay prize by completing the activities.

Meanwhile, the municipality of Quesada has begun a spring commerce promotion running from 15 April to 31 May. Residents who spend at least €15 at participating local shops receive a ticket with a letter; collecting all letters to complete the phrase “Quesada está viva” enters them into a draw for prizes such as a €400 trip for two and two €200 consumer vouchers usable at the involved businesses.

Both campaigns aim to boost local engagement—Ciudad Real by encouraging tap‑water consumption and highlighting its safety, and Quesada by stimulating retail sales during the post‑winter period.
