Spanish towns launch summer municipal pool season
Municipal swimming pools across the Murcia region opened for the summer season in early June. Facilities in Murcia, Cartagena, Caravaca, Archena, and several smaller towns began operating with reduced entry fees – for example, adult tickets at 2 €, children at 1 € – and extended opening hours, while offering swimming courses, children's excursions and other leisure programmes.
In the Andalusian village of Higuera de la Sierra, the town’s pool opened on 15 June. Admission was free until the venue reached capacity, and the schedule runs from 12:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and until 21:30 on weekends. Season tickets are on sale at the town hall, aiming to make the facility accessible to families, youths and visitors throughout the hot summer months.
