Spanish towns launch summer youth spaces and school renovation projects
The municipality of Ejea de los Caballeros opened a new edition of La Jaima, a summer leisure centre for young people, on 29 June. Running until 20 August in the courtyard of Colegio Cervantes, the programme offers nightly games, sports, workshops, escape rooms and themed parties for children from the 6th primary grade onward, with activities such as flag capture, dodgeball, aqua‑challenge and talent shows.
Meanwhile, the provincial education authority in Córdoba announced almost twenty construction and refurbishment projects for public schools during the summer holidays. The works, financed with more than €4 million, include a new gymnasium and elevator at the Instituto Grupo Cántico, an aula‑restaurant at Instituto Gran Capitán, roof repairs at Instituto Blas Infante and modernisation works at several other centres, altogether injecting over €9.4 million into the 2025‑2026 school improvement programme.
