Spanish towns launch youth summer programs in August

The municipality of San Bartolomé will celebrate International Youth Day on 12 August with a day‑long outing to Aquapark Costa Teguise. The event, organized by the town’s Youth Department together with the Adsisy Foundation, includes transport, park entry and a meal for participants aged 12 and up. Mayor Isidro Pérez said the aim is to promote healthy leisure and community participation, while Youth Councilor Mónica de León described the day as a “different” experience for local youngsters. Registration is limited and can be made by phone.

In Segovia, the municipal programme "Verano Segovia Joven" has concluded after filling all 320 offered places. Free camps for children aged 10‑12 and teenagers aged 13‑17 featured activities such as dance, chess, theatre, water games and a "Semana Nómada" for older participants. Youth Councilor Sergio Calleja highlighted the goal of supporting families during school holidays and noted that most activities were fully booked, with a waiting list for many. Some events in the neighbourhoods of Zamarramala, Madrona and Revenga remain to be held later in the year.
