Spanish municipalities launch summer pool openings in Fuenlabrada, El Campello and Alamillo
The municipality of Fuenlabrada opened its summer celebrations with the ONFuenla Summer Pool Party on Friday night, running from 21:00 to 02:00. Entry costs €2 and includes inflatable water toys, a DJ set, fire and magic shows, and a food area. A second free event, Piscifascinante, will follow on Sunday with family‑friendly Zumba, aquafitness and other water activities.
In El Campello, the long‑delayed sports complex finally opened to the public on 1 July after 16 years of construction. The 6,000‑square‑metre facility offers a covered pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, multiple tennis and padel courts, and plans to convert one tennis court into four pickeball courts. About 1,000 users have already registered, and the centre showcases a wellness device that measures physical‑age metrics.
Alamillo, a small town of 450 residents, also opened its municipal pool on 1 July, moving the start of the season forward because of an extreme heatwave with temperatures reaching 40 °C. Local health authorities highlighted safety advice such as showering before swimming, wearing rubber shoes, and avoiding running on wet surfaces.
