Spanish towns open new resident and free parking zones

The municipality of Andratx in the Balearic Islands has temporarily designated two parking areas near the Port d’Andratx for resident vehicles only. About 60 spaces formerly part of the regulated ORA system are now reserved for locals while public‑port authority ABAQUA carries out renovation works on the first pier. Local police will enforce the restriction until the works are completed.

In Mojácar, Andalucía, the council signed a partnership to convert the former Camping El Cantal into a free public car park with more than 100 spaces. Opened on 15 July 2026, the facility aims to relieve heavy summer traffic, support nearby shops and restaurants, and promote smoother urban mobility for residents and tourists alike.
