Spanish towns receive awards at National Assembly of Most Beautiful Villages
During the XIV National Assembly of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages of Spain held in Alcúdia, Mallorca, several municipalities were recognized for their tourism and digital engagement.
Santillana del Mar and Liérganes, both located in Cantabria, received major honors. Santillana del Mar was named the Most Visited Village based on association app data, while Liérganes earned the distinction for Most Visited on Web and App, recording over 11,500 page views.
Other award recipients included Albarracín (Teruel) as the Best Rated Village, Morella (Castellón) as the Most Hardworking Village, and the host town, Alcúdia, as the Most International Village due to its high percentage of foreign tourists. The assembly, attended by over 150 people and 60 delegations, also addressed quality control measures, such as the strategic placement of solar panels to protect historical landscapes and monuments.
