Spain and neighboring towns open municipal pools for the summer season

Municipal authorities across Spain and nearby regions have begun preparations and opened their public swimming facilities for the 2026 summer season. In Puerto Lumbreras, the mayor and sports councilor oversaw upgrades to pool structures, lighting and accessibility ahead of a June 15 opening. Arganda del Rey announced discounted entry for local residents as its two municipal complexes start operations. Puertollano began rehabilitation works on the Dehesa Boyal pool while confirming a June 20 opening for another complex. Pedrola awarded a contract for lifeguard services for the June‑September season. In Barjols, France, the municipal pool reopened on 3 June with extended summer hours and tiered pricing. Bilbao launched its municipal pool season with free registration for early subscribers and strict capacity controls. Several other towns—including San Roque de Guadalajara, Soto del Real, Barcelona and Pamplona’s Aranzadi complex—have announced opening dates, schedules, pricing and facility upgrades, aiming to provide safe, accessible recreation for residents during the hot months.
