Spanish towns Villena and Mieres launch free immersive cultural experiences

The Espacio Joven youth centre in Villena will host a free, immersive escape‑room titled “SUMMER TIME: Un viaje sin retorno” on 11 August for ages 9‑12 and on 12 August for ages 13‑17. The activity, selected through participatory budgeting and organised by the municipal Councils of Participation and Childhood, requires prior online registration.

Mieres municipality will incorporate the new immersive hall at the Pozo Santa Bárbara mining site into its summer tourism programme. Guided visits and an exhibition will run on 1, 6 and 14 August, and the hall will feature on several tourist‑bus routes throughout August and September. The initiative aims to broaden access to the town’s mining heritage and is offered free of charge as part of the town’s cultural‑tourism drive.
