Spanish universities expand academic offerings with new medical and technology degrees
Several Spanish universities are expanding their academic offerings for the 2026-2027 academic year with a focus on medicine and emerging technologies.
The University of La Rioja (UR) has welcomed 1,100 new undergraduate students. The institution is introducing two new degrees: Medicine and Language Technology. The latter is designed to address the growth of artificial intelligence, virtual assistants, and automated translation by combining linguistics with data processing.
At the CEU Cardenal Herrera University (CEU UCH), the Elche campus is launching degrees in Medicine and Business Intelligence. The Elche campus reported 800 new students, a 45% increase from the previous year, bringing its total enrollment to 2,400. Across all three CEU UCH campuses in Valencia, Castellón, and Elche, the university has incorporated more than 2,800 new students.
