Spanish universities expand degree offerings for 2026-2027 academic year

Spanish universities are expanding their academic offerings and reporting high enrollment rates for the 2026-2027 academic year.

UNED in Ciudad Real has announced five new degree programs to meet demand in specialized sectors. These include a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and a degree in Artificial Intelligence Engineering. Additionally, the institution is introducing three double degrees in Psychology and Criminology, Mathematics and Physics, and Economics and Mathematics.

Meanwhile, the University of Almería (UAL) has commenced the new academic year with 98% occupancy in new entry spots. The university expects to host nearly 12,000 students across its various programs. A notable addition to UAL's curriculum this year is the new degree in Speech Therapy, aimed at strengthening health sciences training in the Andalusian public system.
