Spanish universities launch 2026-2027 academic year

Several Spanish universities have officially inaugurated the 2026-2027 academic year with ceremonies focused on professional values and intellectual rigor.

At Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio (UAX), tennis player Rafa Nadal delivered a masterclass to students. Nadal emphasized the importance of building a human and professional legacy through values such as loyalty, effort, generosity, and discipline. He noted that personal satisfaction is found in effort and encouraged students to be prepared for opportunities and to manage difficult moments by surrounding themselves with the right people.

Meanwhile, the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (UPSA) held a solemn ceremony in its Aula Magna. Rector Santiago García-Jalón de la Lama addressed the university community, advocating for the pursuit of truth and intellectual rigor as the fundamental pillars of higher education. He stated that the institution's mission extends beyond the mere transmission of knowledge, aiming instead to foster analytical attitudes and respect for academic debate.
