Spanish universities launch new student innovation and sports programs

Spanish universities are launching new initiatives for their student communities. The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) has started the second edition of its Reto-UPCT program. This initiative encourages students to solve real-world problems identified by companies, associations, or public entities. The program includes a Professional Network to connect students with potential internships and employment opportunities, culminating in the Reto-FEST event.

Simultaneously, the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) has resumed its sports competitions at the Vera Campus. The program, which saw 3,436 participants during the 2025-2026 academic year, is entering its league phase. The competitions offer various team, racket, and individual sports with a flexible scheduling system designed to accommodate academic and professional obligations.
