Spanish universities report rising international student enrollment

Spanish universities are reporting significant increases in international student enrollment for the 2026/27 academic year.

The University of Seville expects to welcome over 3,000 international students. Italy remains the primary country of origin with approximately 600 students, followed by Germany and Mexico. The university noted an expansion in its international partnerships, including new mobility from countries such as Malta, Thailand, and Egypt. High-demand programs include Labor Relations and Human Resources, Architecture, and Hispanic Philology.

Similarly, the University of León is strengthening its international presence with more than 250 students arriving from 29 different countries and over one hundred universities. Italy and Mexico provide the largest student contingents to León. The university's international community includes participants from various programs, such as Erasmus+ and bilateral agreements, with significant enrollment in Economic and Business Sciences.
