Spanish villages receive tourism and holiday recognition

Peñalba de Santiago has been ranked among the top ten most highly rated villages in Spain for 2026 by the association 'Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España'. Located in the Bierzo region within the Valle del Silencio, the village secured seventh place with a score of 4.84 out of 5. The ranking is based on visitor ratings and the volume of opinions to reflect authentic tourist experiences. The village is noted for its traditional stone and slate architecture and the 10th-century Mozarabic Church of Santiago de Peñalba.

In Bocairent, located in the Vall d'Albaida, the municipality has been selected as one of 34 participants in the 2026 'Juntos brillamos más' contest organized by Ferrero Rocher. The town is currently competing against Sant Mateu to become the representative for the Valencian Community in the next round of the competition, which aims to provide festive Christmas lighting to a selected Spanish municipality.
