Spanish water parks and municipal pools open summer season with upgrades

Lusiberia water park in Badajoz has opened its summer season after a delayed launch to complete safety‑related civil works. The new management renovated the wave pool, repaired and repainted slides, added free 360° video experiences, introduced new inflatable karts and updated food‑service pricing. Flexible ticket bundles have also been introduced to compensate for the postponed opening.

Across the Pla d’Urgell region, municipal pools in Ivars d’Urgell and Vallverd now use an automated access system with bracelets, PIN codes or QR codes, allowing real‑time monitoring of attendance and improving capacity control. The mayor highlighted early financial gains and positive public response. The regional council also relaunched a joint seasonal pool pass, letting residents of nearby towns use any participating pool free of charge during the summer.

Both initiatives aim to modernise facilities, enhance safety and attract visitors during the high‑temperature months.
