Spanish national team World Cup champions football season European Super Cup Athletic Club

Following their World Cup victory against Argentina in July, members of the Spanish national football team are returning to their respective clubs to begin the new season.

Fabián Ruiz has rejoined Paris Saint-Germain to prepare for the European Super Cup against Aston Villa in Salzburg. Meanwhile, Athletic Club players Unai Simón, Aymeric Laporte, and Nico Williams are preparing for their league debut against Sevilla on August 22. Before their official league start, the Athletic Club squad is scheduled to play a friendly match against Atalanta in Bergamo.
