SPAR and JET expand retail test phase to western Austria

SPAR and JET are expanding their joint pilot program to western Austria with a new ‘SPAR express’ shop located at a JET gas station in Saalfelden, Salzburg. This expansion aims to gather operational insights across different regional locations.

The Saalfelden site features an 80-square-meter shop offering approximately 1,500 items, including fresh foods, chilled snacks, and beverages. A key component of the partnership is a price guarantee on SPAR brand products, fruit, vegetables, meat, and baked goods, ensuring they are sold at the same prices as in SPAR supermarkets. The shop is designed to be open seven days a week, including holidays, typically from 06:00 to 22:00.

SPAR CEO Hans K. Reisch and JET Austria Managing Director Erik Gille both emphasized that the collaboration focuses on providing high-quality, fresh, and affordable shopping options for customers on the go.
