Sparkasse Dachau introduces new transaction-based account models

Sparkasse Dachau is introducing four new checking account models effective November 1, 2026. The new structure shifts from flat-rate pricing toward a model where costs are heavily influenced by the number of transactions performed.

Base monthly fees for the new models range from 3.00 Euro to 14.50 Euro. However, individual transactions such as direct debits or card payments may incur additional fees. One long-term customer reported that the transition could increase his monthly costs from 7.50 Euro to approximately 30.00 Euro due to these per-transaction charges. Such fee increases may disproportionately affect individuals on low incomes, including pensioners and social welfare recipients.
