Sparrow House women's recovery centre opens in Chilliwack, expanding beds

A new 15‑bed facility called Sparrow House opened at 46209 Maple Avenue in Chilliwack on July 29, 2026. The centre houses the women’s recovery program of Ruth & Naomi’s Mission (RAN), increasing its capacity from eight to fifteen beds.

RAN executive director Scott Gaglardi said the building signals that residents are “never out of sight” and are valued. The opening was attended by provincial MLAs Á’a:líya Warbus and Heather Maahs, City of Chilliwack councillor Nicole Read, and RAN development director Tracy Rahn. A performance by the Stqó:ye Slháli Singing Group honored the Indigenous roots of the land.

Ruth & Naomi’s Mission is a Christian‑faith nonprofit that provides shelter, meals, addiction treatment and supportive housing to people experiencing homelessness, poverty and addiction across the Fraser Valley.
