Chrudim denied second‑division licence over stadium and financial issues

The Czech Football Association (FAČR) refused MFK Chrudim a licence to compete in the Chance National League for the 2026/27 season. The decision cited the club’s inadequate stadium lighting, unresolved wage and tax arrears, and a deteriorating financial position. Chrudim’s legal representative criticised the ruling, stating “mám skutečně velké pochybnosti o regulérnosti průběhu licenčního řízení.”

After the appeal was rejected by the court, the club faces relegation to the amateur ČFL, with an eleven‑player squad and no head coach. Despite the turmoil, Ukrainian forward who joined Chrudim last season confirmed he will stay, saying his family has already settled in the Czech Republic and he wishes to help the team in the upcoming season.

The club is seeking a temporary venue in Chomutov while it explores legal options and attempts to rebuild its finances and infrastructure.
