Spartak Pleven basketball shows character despite preseason tournament losses

Spartak Pleven basketball manager Bogdan Petkov commented on the team's performance during the preseason Pleven Cup tournament. Despite losing both matches—a 64:66 defeat to Petrolul Ploiești in the semifinals and a 79:82 loss to Universitatea Craiova for third place—Petkov noted that the team showed character and fighting spirit.

Petkov highlighted that the squad is still in preparation, with nearly half the roster missing and several key players sidelined by injuries over the last ten days. He emphasized the importance of gaining match practice over training alone to avoid difficulties during the regular season. The team is expected to reunite in full strength this Wednesday to prepare for their first European North Basketball League match on September 30.
