Spartak Varna defeats Cherno More 3-0 in historic city derby
Spartak Varna won the second‑round First League derby against Cherno More with a 3‑0 scoreline. The victory marked the club's first win over Cherno More in 19 years and the first triumph at Varna's Ticha stadium since 1993, coinciding with the 100th meeting between the two sides.
Goals came from Angel Granchov (33′), Georgi Stoyanovski (88′) and Ricardo Sousa in added time (90+5′). Spartak coach Gjoko Hadzhievski praised the tactical discipline and highlighted the emotional importance of the win. Cherno More coach Ilian Iliev admitted his side “gifted” the match through defensive uncertainties.
The result gave Spartak four points in the league and broke a long‑standing derby winless streak, while Cherno More remained with only one point after the fixture.
