Spazio Alfieri hosts film series on Palestine and Israel
Spazio Alfieri is hosting a film series in Italy focused on the history of Palestine and Israel, spanning from the 1936 Palestinian revolt to the current war in Gaza and the political landscape surrounding Benjamin Netanyahu.
The program includes 'Naza' by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, a documentary that received the Special Jury Prize at the 83rd Venice Film Festival and investigates Israeli military operations and surveillance in Gaza. Other featured works include 'Palestina 36' by Annemarie Jacir and Nadav Lapid's 'Yes', which examines Israeli society following the October 7 attacks.
Additionally, the investigative documentary 'The Bibi Files', directed by Alexis Bloom and produced by Alex Gibney, is being screened across various Italian cities, including Piacenza. The film utilizes leaked police interrogation recordings involving Benjamin Netanyahu and his family to reconstruct his legal challenges and political influence. The documentary has not been distributed in Israeli theaters due to legal restrictions and judicial efforts by Netanyahu.
