Spcine Play expands free Brazilian cinema streaming to Samsung and LG Smart TVs

Spcine Play, Brazil's first public streaming platform, has released updated applications for Samsung and LG Smart TVs. The free apps are now available in the respective TV app stores, allowing viewers to watch a catalog of more than 170 titles—including classic films such as *Pixote*, works by Mazzaropi and Os Trapalhões, and recent releases—directly on their televisions.

The service, operated by Spcine and linked to the São Paulo municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creativity, aims to democratize access to Brazilian audiovisual production. In addition to Smart TVs, Spcine Play remains accessible on Android and iOS mobile devices, computers, and Roku‑compatible TVs from brands such as TCL, Philco and Philips. The platform offers subtitles, audio description and other accessibility features, and requires only a simple free registration.

The expansion broadens the reach of publicly funded Brazilian cinema, providing a convenient, cost‑free option for audiences across the country.
