Special sauna and bath events announced in Japan

Daiichi Takimotokan is hosting the second annual ‘Oshi-buro Election,’ a popularity contest for its preferred baths. Running from October 25 to December 20, 2026, the event allows guests to vote for their favorite baths—such as the octagonal bath, open-air baths, or the historical Kinzo no Yu—and submit comments explaining their preference. Participants can vote via on-site ballots, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.

In Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, Kisuke Co., Ltd. and SAUNiiiK LLC will host ‘Yaneno-ue Sauna’ on October 25, 2026. This one-day event transforms the seventh floor of the Kisuke BOX multi-story parking lot into a sauna facility. The rooftop setting allows for activities often restricted in indoor facilities, such as splashing water freely. The event features three distinct tent saunas: a large tent for cooling down with ice water, a medium tent using frozen hojicha steam, and a small tent designed for meditative sauna experiences.
