Special Woodstock music festival celebrates 27 years in Duncan

The Special Woodstock music festival will celebrate its 27th anniversary on August 16 at Providence Farm in Duncan. Founded in 1999 by Shelly Vaags, the event aims to promote acceptance for people living with special needs while showcasing Cowichan art and culture.

The one-day, family-friendly festival features over 100 performers across three stages, including bands, soloists, and comedians. The lineup includes entertainers of both abled and diverse abilities, such as Wayne Montgomery, Rick Scott, The McGillicuddy’s, and the Victoria Gaelic choir. The event provides a platform for community members to express themselves through music.
