Specialized launches lower‑priced Epic 9 Sport and Comp mountain bikes

Specialized has expanded its Epic 9 mountain‑bike line with two new carbon‑frame models, the Epic 9 Sport and Epic 9 Comp. Both retain the FACT 11m carbon chassis, progressive cross‑country geometry and 120 mm of front and rear travel. The Sport version is priced at €4,199, while the Comp is offered just under €5,000, reducing the entry point for the platform by roughly €2,800 compared with earlier entry‑level models.

Both bikes are equipped with SRAM’s wireless S1000 Eagle AXS 12‑speed groupset, RockShox Reba front fork and SID Luxe Select+ rear shock, and feature four‑piston SRAM DB4 brakes. The launch aims to broaden the Epic 9 family’s appeal to a wider cross‑country rider base by offering high‑end technology at a more accessible price.
