Venezuela expands specialized medical services in Guárico and Zulia

Health authorities in Venezuela have announced significant expansions in specialized medical care across multiple regions. In Guárico state, the healthcare system has reached a total of 19 active high-technology dialysis units to treat chronic renal failure. This expansion follows a four-phase distribution plan involving the Ministry of Health and the Guárico Governorate, with the most recent equipment delivered to the IVSS ‘Darío Vivas’ Hospital in San Juan de los Morros.

In Zulia state, the Autonomous Service of the Maracaibo University Hospital (Sahum) has successfully performed 71 pacemaker implant surgeries. This initiative, part of the National Surgical Plan, provides free treatment for severe cardiac arrhythmias and heart rhythm disorders. Many of these patients were identified through the VenApp platform.

Additionally, in Carabobo, community health jornadas have provided medical attention and vaccinations to residents in the Juan Germán Roscio commune, including the distribution of two-month supplies of medication for patients with chronic conditions.
