Specialized surgical sessions held in Spain and Venezuela
Medical facilities in Spain and Venezuela are conducting specialized surgical sessions to address complex pathologies.
In Jaén, Spain, the Hospital Universitario de Jaén is hosting advanced thoracic surgery sessions on October 6 and 7. Led by specialist Diego González Rivas, the program includes three high-complexity procedures, including right upper lobectomies and a segmentectomy, utilizing minimally invasive techniques for lung cancer and other thoracic conditions. The initiative aims to foster knowledge exchange and practical training for the surgical team.
In Carabobo, Venezuela, the Ciudad Hospitalaria Doctor Henrique Tejera (CHET) is conducting surgical sessions for 200 patients through October 9. The Dermatology Service, led by Sandra Vivas, is responding to a significant rise in skin cancer incidence, which has risen from the seventh to the second most common pathology in the region over the last five years. These free surgeries serve patients from Carabobo and surrounding states, including Cojedes, Guárico, Lara, and Aragua.
