Species conservation efforts show success in preventing extinction

Human intervention has occasionally succeeded in reversing the decline of certain endangered species. Through habitat protection and active conservation efforts, some populations have begun to recover.

Notable examples include the Przewalski's horse, which has transitioned from ‘critically endangered’ to ‘endangered’ following reintroduction efforts in Mongolia. In Spain, the brown bear population has shown signs of growth, increasing from only six females with cubs in 1989 to over thirty in recent years, despite historical losses in the Pyrenees. Additionally, conservation efforts have targeted the Siberian tiger in the forests of eastern Russia to combat the effects of poaching and low genetic diversity.
