Specsavers honors optometrists with professional excellence awards

Specsavers has recognized two healthcare professionals for their outstanding contributions to eye care and community service through national awards.

In Australia, graduate optometrist Rahul Sundarjee was nominated for the Dame Mary Perkins Award for Outstanding Patient Care. Sundarjee, based in Gungahlin, ACT, was recognized for his commitment to pediatric eye care and myopia control, specifically for his work in diagnosing and managing high myopia and bilateral amblyopia in young patients.

In the United Kingdom, dispensing optician Nicola McLeod from Specsavers Exeter was awarded the Doug Perkins Medal for Dispensing. McLeod was honored for her 24 years of service, her role as an in-store trainer, and her community outreach efforts, which include providing eye health information to schools in Exeter and supporting local students through work experience placements.
