Speculum Artium festival to host 18th edition in Trbovlje

The 18th edition of the Speculum Artium festival is scheduled to take place in Trbovlje from September 16 to 19, 2026. This festival focuses on the intersection of art, science, and technology, exploring themes such as the environmental and physical consequences of technological progress and the resource requirements of artificial intelligence.

The program includes 42 artistic works, featuring interactive experiences like laser harps and virtual reality. A notable highlight is the dance performance CODA / Koda, set against the backdrop of Europe's tallest chimney, which examines the relationship between the human body and machines. Additionally, the DanceScapes VR experience will use contemporary dance to connect stories of abandoned locations.
