Speech therapist arrested for alleged sexual abuse in Minas Gerais

A speech therapist was arrested by the Civil Police in Barbacena, Minas Gerais, following allegations of sexual abuse against six mothers of patients at the Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (Apae) in Barroso.

Investigations suggest the suspect used his professional role to lure the women to his office under the pretext of teaching them how to administer tests to their children. According to the reports, once alone with the victims, he would position them near him to facilitate sexual self-stimulation.

The suspect has denied all allegations during his testimony. The Apae of Barroso stated that the professional had worked at the institution for approximately 28 days and was immediately dismissed once the administration became aware of the situation. The institution has cooperated with the police investigation.
