Speed camera deployments announced in Trier, Luxembourg and Saarland

The police and municipal authorities in western Germany have published new speed‑camera locations for the upcoming weeks. In the Trier region, including nearby Luxembourg, mobile and stationary radar devices will operate on roads such as B51 (Trier‑Pallien, Konz, Bitburg, Oberstedem, Olzheim, etc.) and A60 (Prüm) between June 25 and July 2, 2026. Fixed “ampel‑blitzer” (red‑light cameras) are also installed at several intersections in Trier, with fines ranging from €90 for a red‑light pass to up to €240 and possible points or driving bans for more serious offences.

In the neighbouring Saarland, mobile radars will monitor routes like the A1 between Eppelborn and Nonnweiler, while a growing network of permanent speed traps operates mainly around Saarbrücken. The fine schedule mirrors national standards, with penalties starting at €30 for a 10 km/h over‑speed indoors and rising to €700 plus points and possible driving bans for excesses over 60 km/h.

Drivers in both regions are advised that controls may also be unannounced, and violation notices are typically mailed within four to six weeks after detection.
