Speedo launches iQ smart tracking system for swimmers

Speedo has launched Speedo iQ, a new sensor-equipped tracking system designed for swimmers to analyze their technique and performance. The system utilizes a smart module that can be attached to the brand’s Vanquisher training goggles, allowing users to track metrics such as distance, pace, duration, and specific stroke types, including front crawl, backstroke, butterfly, and breaststroke.

Unlike goggles with built-in displays, the Speedo iQ system does not feature screen technology in the lenses, ensuring an undistracted swimming experience. Instead, it functions similarly to a wearable fitness tracker by recording data and syncing it to a dedicated mobile app after the session. The app provides insights such as ‘head playback’ to help athletes and coaches evaluate head position, breathing, and turns.

The technology is World Aquatics approved for competitive use and does not require a subscription service. The hardware offers up to four hours of battery life per session.
